Back in action!
It’s been a bit of a stop start season so far, but at long last the RFU have given grassroots Rugby the green light to start training again. Our men, women, junior boys and girls as well as walking rugby will all be back in action from Monday 29 March when hopefully we can finish the season at the end of May with the possibility of a few games taking place!
If you are interested in joining Tewkesbury RFC then please just send us an email or complete one of our contact forms so that we can arrange for you to pop down and start a trial.
Unfortunately our Clubhouse remains closed under the current government guidelines until the middle of May but will be dependant on guidance at the time. We will keep everyone up to date with progress.
Return to Rugby Roadmap
The RFU have just published their provisional plan for a phased return to full contact rugby. It’s wonderful to see light at the end of the tunnel and we are as delighted that clubs and players across the country will soon be able to resume training and, subject to each step on government’s roadmap being achieved, progress towards contact fixtures and an exciting season of rugby for 2021/22 from September.
Please note the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap has been revised to follow steps on the government roadmap. Please therefore disregard previous versions and only share the new ‘green for go’ roadmap below. We have removed Stages B and C as they are no longer currently relevant due to changes in government restrictions.
While we are all incredibly excited about getting back out on the pitch, we should also be conscious of the need to build-up gradually after a long lay-off. The focus for all activity over the next three months will be on player retention and player safety.
Until Monday 29 March, unless you are an age grade player taking part in organised school or college rugby activity, we remain at Stage A on the Return to Rugby Roadmap. This means individuals are only allowed to exercise alone or with one other from another household.
Further details will be published as soon as we have them as to how we as a club will resume training, so please bear with us whilst we ensure that we can return to rugby as safely as possible for all involved.

Guinness 6 Nations Prediction Competition
Join in our Guinness Six Nations Prediction Competition. The competition kicks off this weekend with the first match taking place at 2.15 pm on Saturday. No entry fee and no prizes but lots of fun to see who can get closest.
The Rules
- To predict the margin for each game in the Guinness 6 Nations 2021 competition.
- Points will be added to each prediction depending on how close you are to the final score.
- If you get a match score correct, no points will be added to your total.
- For example, if you predict TEAM A to win by 1 point but they win by 2 points, you will score 1 point. If Team A lose by 2 points, you will score 3 points and so on.
- At the end of the competition the winner will be the entrant with the lowest number of points scored..
Guide for entering your predictions You need to predict what the points difference will be for each match. For instance, if you think England (as the home team) will beat Wales by 15 points you should enter +15 in the box.
If you think Wales (as the away team) will beat England by 10 points you should enter -10.
If you think it will be a draw game, enter 0 in the box.
Your points are calculated by counting the difference between your predicted score and the actual score of each game. An updated table will be published after each round of fixtures, on the Thursday after latest.
Closing date Saturday 6 February 12 noon
NOTE: When you submit your entry form you will not receive an automatic copy of your entry. We will forward a copy of your entry to you but you must complete your email address.
