Annual General Meeting Postponement

Annual General Meeting Postponement

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting scheduled to take place in early 2021 has been postponed until June 2021(estimated). Whilst we recognize that this is disappointing for our members we must comply with current Covid guidelines, but of course, we will continue to monitor the situation and update you on any changes.

Tewkesbury Tigers – Get your Shirt On!

We might not be able to train together but you can still “Get your shirt on” by taking part in the RFU’s online training sessions run by former England players Ugo Monye, Danielle Waterman and Danny Care.

Over the next 3 weeks, you can choose a session from the three sessions:  Session 1 U10’s and below, Session 2 U11’s – U14’s and Session 3 U15’s and above.  With community rugby currently at Stage A on the Return to Rugby roadmap, it’s important for players to continue to stay active, even if it’s from home so come on Tigers “Get your Shirts On”.

Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Update

Following the Government’s announcement yesterday (Wednesday 30 December) that Gloucestershire would move from Tier 3 to Tier 4 with immediate effect, the RFU and GRFU have issued guidance in terms of what that means for rugby.
All adult training sessions/matches are cancelled until further notice.
Age-grade training can recommence on Sunday 3rd January 2021 BUT this will be dependent on a pitch inspection on Saturday morning as our pitches are currently frozen. Whilst the club will do everything it can to offer the best coaching possible, we do understand if parents would prefer to keep children at home whilst we are in Tier 4. If play can recommence the U7’s to U11’s will train from 9.30 am – 11.00 am followed by the U12’s – U16’s from 11.30 – 1.00 pm. Please watch our social media for updates as well as communications from your team coach. As regards fixtures we have taken the decision to cancel all fixtures until further notice.
Update 2nd January:  Following a pitch inspection on Saturday 2nd January, the grounds are not sufficiently thawed to allow play to commence tomorrow.  As regards any mid-week training your coach will update you as to what, if anything, each team will be able to do this coming week.  We will be reviewing both Covid-19 updates in relation to Tier 4  and the pitch situation in the coming days and will let everyone know what our plans are moving forward.
As everyone is well aware the new strain of Covid 19 is 70% more transmissible and extra caution must be taken. Therefore, we are implementing new guidelines that must be followed when arriving at the club:-
1. Only one parent per player is allowed when attending the club grounds. We recognize that some parents have young children and where possible we would ask that they do not attend.
2. You must also scan in using our unique NHS Track and Trace QR code featured around the grounds.
3. Please remember to maintain social distancing at all times.

We would remind everyone that if you have NOT yet re-registered your child to play on GMS you must do so before returning to training. If you need help or have any queries please send an email to tigers@tewkesburyrfc.co.uk

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas

It has certainly been a tough year for everyone and as the end of 2020 approaches, we are all hoping that 2021 will be a much better year. What with the floods earlier in the year and the covid-19 closure we haven’t been able to operate as normal, but we have been overwhelmed by the support of our coaches, supporters, volunteers, parents, sponsors – Cotswold BMW Cheltenham and Bps Builders Merchant and of course all our players. So we would like to send to you all Seasons Greetings and wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year! Stay safe and we will see you in the new year.
