More county success for the Tigers!
Although the weather may have dampened the pitches and numbers of games this year at the Tigers, it certainly hasn’t dampened the spirit of our juniors section which has continued to improve and grow with a record breaking number of boys being selected to play at County Level this season. Coupled with the success of both Poppy and Leah from the girls U15 team and Jorja Taylor U18 also being selected for County, our boys and girls go from strength to strength.
Many of our players have come through the junior age groups from as young as 7 years of age, so this is a great opportunity to not only showcase the achievements of our older players but to inspire our current younger players that they too could be representing Tewkesbury Tigers in the coming years.
Congratulations to Oliver Thomas (U16), Archie Walsh (U16), Henry Evetts (U16), Alex Rolfe (U16), Ben Peters (U16), Alex Cole (U18), Sam Thomas (U18 & U20), Jack Brinn (U18 & U20) and Max Rendall (U20).
It is certainly tantamount to the commitment of our coaches who have been involved with these players that we can boast of such a great record. They should all be immensely proud to see their hard work and dedication pay off and the recognition of County Honours. Once again massive congratulations to the boys and girls from everyone involved at Tewkesbury Tigers, onwards and upwards for the mighty Chooks!
Tewkesbury Girls play for County
Gloucestershire County U15’s team were in action at the weekend playing at Cheltenham Tigers home ground at Newlands Park and the squad included two of our very own players Poppy and Leah. Gloucestershire were playing against strong teams from Somerset Cornwall and Devon and the final results were a win against Somerset, draw against Cornwall and a loss against Devon.
County and Tewkesbury Tigers Coach, Mervyn Woodward, said “both girls played extremely well and are a credit to our Club. It is a great testament to the coaching at club level that we are seeing our young players achieving such great things. Well done Poppy and Leah

U11 Festival postponed
The February rain and flooding has been one of the most horrendous months for us as a club, we can’t remember when we experienced so many cancelled games due to bad weather. Some of you may have been aware that we were due to host the Gloucestershire U11 Festival at the club on Sunday 8 Match. With over 600 players and their friends and families due to arrive the grounds and surrounding areas just haven’t recovered enough to support such a huge group so it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the event. However we are talking to the GRFU to see if we can reschedule so we will let you know if we can get this festival rearranged.
