Reuben Woodham
The U14 Schools Cup took place between Sir Thomas Rich’s School and The Crypt School at Kingsholm with Reuben Woodham playing at hooker for The Crypt School.
Crypt had previously beaten Churchdown, Pates and Tewkesbury on route to the final with Reuben playing Chooks teammates in both the Pates and Tewkesbury School matches.
Both sides played some fantastic rugby with Crypt leading two tries to nil after the first 20 minutes and Crypt controlling the game in the first half. However, half time saw a different Sir Thomas Rich’s side return to the pitch and getting back into the match early in the second half. Crypt had opportunity late in the second half with some big scrums close to the Tommies line, but they held out and the game finished with a final score of 22-19 to Sir Thomas Rich’s.
Having featured for all the Crypt games in the run up to the final and captaining the Tewkesbury Under 14 team for all of the 2018/19 season, it was a great way to finish the year with a run out at such a fantastic stadium, well done Reuben!
