Watch England Rugby for free this month and generate revenue for us!

We’re encouraging all members, as well as your family and friends, to take advantage of a new offer created between the RFU and Amazon that lets you watch England Rugby for free in the Autumn Nations Cup, while also creating much-needed revenue for the club.

The Quilter Internationals kick off this Saturday and will be streamed online via  Amazon Prime. To help grassroots clubs generate revenue, Amazon has worked alongside the RFU to open up registration for clubs to become Amazon Associates.

This means the club will now receive £3 for every member of the community who signs up to Amazon on a free one-month trial through our club’s unique Associates link below.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE THIS UNIQUE LINK www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/primesignup/ref=acph_piv?tag=tewkesburyrfc-21 to sign up for your free one-month trial, otherwise the club won’t benefit from your subscription.

There is no expectation for members to stay on Prime past the trial period. The club will make £3 from each individual sign-up via the unique link, regardless of whether the member stays on past the trial period or not.

Every little helps in these challenging times, so please spread this message and our unique URL link far and wide – friends, colleagues and neighbours are all welcome to sign up!

Covid-19 and AGM Update

Covid-19 and AGM Update

Following the Government announcement on Saturday evening, England is due to go back into lockdown from 5th November until 2nd December.

We believe that all grassroots sports will cease as of midnight on Wednesday 3rd November and therefore any training after this date will stop until we receive further guidance from the RFU. As soon as the RFU issue any updates or new guidance we will share with you as soon as we can.

The lockdown, of course, also impacts the operations of our Clubhouse, so we will close on Wednesday evening until further notice. This also means that our scheduled AGM, due to take place on Saturday 14 November 2020, has now also been cancelled. We hope to reschedule our AGM for the early part of January.

We recognize that this is hugely disappointing for everyone, but as soon as we are able to recommence our activities in a safe way you can be assured play and our clubhouse will open.

Lastly, we would like to thank all our members, players, parents and those of you who support the club. Please keep safe and we will see you very soon we hope!

Last Order Date for Online Shop

Christmas Orders – Our last date for guaranteed delivery for items ordered from our online kit shop is 13 November.  All orders must be received and paid for by this date.

We are hoping to add a few new items to the shop very soon that would make great gifts so please watch out for updates.

Floodlights ready for the dark evenings

Floodlights ready for the dark evenings

We would like to send a huge thank you to Luke Boskett and his team from GES (Gloucestershire Electrical Services) who came down to the ground this week to carry out some much need work to our floodlight system. Having the support of companies like GES means that we can continue to provide rugby to men, women, and children in Tewkesbury during the long dark winter months.   Thank you GES!

New Season kicks off / Recruiting for Under 9 squad

New Season kicks off / Recruiting for Under 9 squad

It was fantastic to see so many of our youngsters at the Club yesterday for our first day of the 20/21 Season. Everyone worked within the new confines of the game and had great fun.

Our Under 9 team is currently looking for new players to join their squad – open to boys and girls aged 8 if you have a youngster interested in rugby, you can pop down and see for yourself what a great atmosphere we have at Tewkesbury Tigers.  Just send us an email to arrange to meet the Coach.

RFU Update following Government Changes

RFU Update following Government Changes

The RFU has issued the following update following the changes announced by the Government on Wednesday 9 September in relation to the ban on groups of more than six people meeting socially indoors and outdoors. Although social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from Monday 14 September, the Government has confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue. With the exception of clubs impacted by local lockdown restrictions, we remain at Stage D on the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap. The rugby community can continue to organise non-contact fixtures with other clubs using Ready4Rugby and other touch rugby activity.
