On Sunday 24th Feb the U13’s girls team travelled to Banbury to play in a tri-tournament against Banbury RFC and Faringdon RFC
Despite the long break since their last game, the girls worked together to produce a great display of team work and free flowing rugby .
Tewkesbury took on Faringdon in the first game, with Abbie Selwyn stepping up to captain the side and leading by example with some great runs resulting in scoring 2 trys. 2 further trys were scored by Ellie Arnold and Hollie Bowery. The final score of the match was a 30 – 20 win for Faringdon
The second game of the morning was against a very experienced Banbury side. Despite the experience and size of the Banbury team, the Tewkesbury girls worked together in the second half of the game to produce 2 great trys scored by Ellie Arnold and Abbie Selwyn.
The coaches Dave and Bungle were particularly impressed with how all the girls played, supporting each other and demonstrating some great rugby skills.
Players of the match(es) were awarded to Ellie Arnold and Hollie Bowery
Many thanks to Banbury RFC and Faringdon RFC for a great morning of rugby and to all the Tewkesbury supporters cheering from the sidelines even in the freezing conditions
